Objectives and Aspirations

What ICRIDEV seeks to achieve

Objective 1

To build knowledge

To build knowledge through research, offer academic programmes, and thus become one of the leading repositories of knowledge in Africa.

  • Build a network of national and international researchers working at knowledge generation and building.
  • Develop full curricular and functional activities.
  • Create a network of knowledge sharing and act as a knowledge repository.
Objective 2

To foster dialogue

To foster interreligious and intercultural dialogue, and promote justice, peace and reconciliation.

  • Create a credible platform for inter-religious activities.
  • Engage in advocacy on contemporary burning issues.
  • Hold dialogues and peace campaigns engaging both the laity and the clergy.
  • Enhance the quality of trainings on dialogue by supplying the field with highly skilled trainers, facilitators, resource persons and training resources.
  • Serve as a platform for representatives of different religions, faith-based and cultural institutions, and experts, to enhance research, communication and information exchange and to facilitate cooperation.
Objective 3

To encourage social action

To encourage social action through humanitarian services and community development.

  • Empower people from all spheres of life — youths, men, women and community leaders — through training of trainers. ICRIDEV intends to train an average of 300 persons annually from among the clergy, community leaders, youths, men and women.
  • Design projects to support community welfare and development where need arises.
  • Address contemporary challenges such as the non-respect of human rights, inadequate ethical and religious education, and poverty, through advocacy and training.
  • Set up innovative projects to enhance social action in the church and the community.
  • Create a functional multimedia digital resource library with the resources needed to enhance research.

To join other platforms

To join other platforms that share the vision and mission of ICRIDEV.

  • Sign memoranda with partners that have the same or a similar mission, or who promote similar initiatives.
