Bachelor of Theology

3 YearsFull-Time Residential

A rigorous three-year undergraduate programme providing foundational theological education. Covers 180 credit points across Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, Systematic Theology, Practical Theology, and African contexts. Students complete a research paper in the final year.

Master of Theology

2 YearsFull-Time Residential

Introduced in 2008, the MTh programme offers advanced theological research and specialisation across 120 credit points. Students complete 15 courses (6 credits each), a practicum (6 credits), and a thesis (24 credits). Designed for ministry leaders seeking deeper academic formation and scholarly engagement.

The MACL programme equips church leaders with advanced skills in leadership, administration, and ministry management across 120 credit points. It bridges theological knowledge with practical leadership competencies for both secular and ecclesiastical structures in the contemporary church.

Doctor of Philosophy in Theology

3–5 YearsFull-Time Residential

The PhD in Theology is the highest academic degree offered at PTS Kumba. The programme spans a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years. Year 1 consists of coursework, academic writing, and a comprehensive examination; Years 2–3 are devoted to dissertation writing and defence.
